Haikus are Hard

The story "Haikus are Hard" was developed as a passion project and designed to be used as a mentor text (inspired by the work of Lynn Dorfman and Rose Capelli). The story is written entirely in haikus, which readers slowly discover while they begin to understand the concept and poem structure. Other subjects addressed in the story that teachers are able to connect are syllables, counting, and poetry as a whole. The picture book was self-published as both a physical and digital copy.
