MoxieReader
MoxieReader is a blended literacy program for school and home that digitizes and personalizes independent reading. I contributed as a founding team member during Startup Weekend (winner of best business model). I joined again as a product and learning designer. My role was to help teachers successfully implement MoxieReader into their classrooms.
Design Process
Analysis
Using user interviews with teachers as well as collecting support questions, the team developed training content based on what tasks were needed to successfully implement MoxieReader. Teachers also required efficient content that they wouldn't have to invest too much time trying to understand. Turning "tech talk" into "teacher talk" was crucial with providing support. They also required short digestible content to engage with whenever they had freetime.
Teacher Pilot Program
Small instructor-led group workshops were developed to quickly reiterate and adapt learning materials. With design focused on providing essential information on how to be successful as well as where teachers could ask questions. Lessons were adapted based on their questions in order to make sure teachers felt confident implementing the app into their classroom.

This is a great place to tell users a story about your website and let them know more about what you offer. You may want to share information about your company's background, your team, or the services you provide. Be sure to keep the tone and voice consistent throughout the site so users become familiar with your brand.

Reproducibles were also designed and developed to better collaborate Moxiereader in lessons.
Video Tutorials
After gathering input from users regarding our existing training material, we designed and developed easily digestible video tutorials. The aim was to provide teachers with a comprehensive overview of the content in a short period of time, enabling them to feel secure when incorporating the tool into their lessons. During our research, many educators expressed their shortage of time to learn new technologies. As a result, the videos became their preferred choice, leading to more users engaging in mastering more advanced features.
